Victorian Valley Chapel Rental Agreement

1.     Please send $850 to the address above. The rental fee of $750 is for use of the Chapel.  (We do not offer receptions at this time.)  A refundable deposit of $100 is held until after the event and the property has been inspected.  Refunds are based on the discretion of the owner and chapel manager.  Violations of any of the points below can result in the loss of the deposit.

2.     The Chapel is inspected before and after your event.  Any damage to the building inside or out, the grounds, or the contents of the Chapel while in your care, will be your responsibility to repair, correct, or replace.

3.     If you need the Chapel for a rehearsal the day before your scheduled event, you must check with the manager first.  This is based on the availability of the chapel and is limited to one hour.  The Chapel is cleaned the day before your event.  Any additional cleaning needed after a rehearsal would be your responsibility.

4.     The Chapel needs to be left in the condition in which it was received.   Please remove decorations, floral debris, and large amounts of trash, signs, candles or lights. All decorations to the walls, benches, or exterior of the Chapel, must be attached without use of nails or any sharp objects.

5.     All traffic must enter Victorian Valley via La Porte Rd. (1/4 mile East of the ferry).

6.     The owners or agents for the Victorian Valley Chapel are not responsible for any injuries or accidents that may occur before, during or after your event while on Chapel property.

7.     There is a designated parking site at the cleared area located at the immediate right of the turn-in to Chapel grounds.  No cars are to be parked on or around the Chapel grassy area, the turn-around, or along the driveway.  Please leave those needing special assistance at the door and then park in the designated area. 

8.     No animals are allowed in, on or around the Chapel grounds. (Exception: ChristineÕs Carriage Co. or Service Animals),

9.     Please do not carry candles down the aisle or set them in unprotected containers.  There is a fire extinguisher near the front and back doors of the chapel.

10.  Do not toss anything inside the Chapel. Any material thrown outside the Chapel must be of an organic nature, i.e. birdseed, flowers, bubblesÉetc.  Rice is known to injure birds. 

11.  Any directional signs and/or balloons must be removed directly after your event.  Designate someone to remove these signs as you leave the valley.  The Valley Residents feel very strongly about this and we respect their view.

12.   THERE IS NO SMOKING ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON THE CHAPEL GROUNDS! YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT WILL BE AFFECTED! Please communicate this to your guests.  Grass fires are a yearly problem.  The Chapel has been threatened on several occasions due to a visitors' carelessness with a cigarette. As owners we take seriously protecting the Chapel and its surrounding areas.  The Chapel sits on a conservation and preservation site and is one of the historical sites in the San Juan Islands.

13.  Cancellations are needed 60 days in advance of your scheduled event for a full refund.  Anything less than 60 days, your refund will depend on rebooking the date and the time of cancellation.

14.  No more than 75 people are allowed in the Chapel per event.

15.  THE THERMOSTAT MUST BE PLACED ON 55¡ AFTER YOUR EVENT!

16.  Use of the Chapel, per this agreement, is limited to a rehearsal, scheduled wedding ceremony or concert, and gathering for picture taking before and after your event.

17.   Violation of any of the above will result in loss of the security deposit.
